Hoek Pizza

The perfect place to sit outside on a gorgeous evening in Red Hook to catch the sunset. For the moment, you even have a skyline view. We enjoyed ourselves in general. The stracciatella with the big puffy bread was a huge hit! Some people in our party like the Tomato bruschetta others didn't. Same with the tuna bruschetta but the meatball bruschetta was very popular. Nice pizzas especially the Gorgonzola and potatoes; anchovies and olives, and arugula with prosciutto. The salads were hit and miss, but they're comparatively very generous in size. Zucchini pizza was forgettable. The meatball hoagie is very tasty but a far cry from our hoagie expectations bread wise. It's more like a weird shaped calzone.

Ended up here in an emergency hanger situation. But pizza, cures what ails you. We got there right as they were opening, perfectly nice and got us in. Because of the hanger our judgment was clouded and we said yes to a $9 bottle of bubble water...... beware...... sat down and made a split second decision to get the bruschetta, so we could make clear headed choices for food. That was the right move, we are right in the middle of tomato season so we all wanted that and it was delicious. Ordered the anchovies and capers pizza, and the prosciutto with mushrooms. Crust was lovely, toppings nicely distributed, they call it a 12" pizza but they were on the large end so hella got us through the rest of the day. The service was a bit lazy and blasé, and it wasn't like..... comfy in there. If faced with another I'm trapped in redhook and about to murder someone for food situation I would go again. If this place were a song it would be du hast by Rammstein

We had our wedding at Hoek and it was the absolute best venue! The space is amazing -- we did ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing all in the indoor and outdoor space. The staff are amazing (shout out to Anna, Kenny, Lexi, Carlos, Katya, Olivia and many more) -- they worked with us to make our vision come alive and helped us throw the best party! And the food and drinks are delicious and made for such a fun dinner atmosphere with the family-style meal. Overall, hosting an event here felt like the perfect combination of formal and laid back, all thanks to the Hoek team who take their events very seriously and make you feel so taken care of from start to finish. We cannot say enough good things about Hoek. They went above and beyond, and made our wedding day unforgettable. Thank you, Hoek!!!

HIDDEN GEM! The owner Kenny went above and beyond to make our experience amazing while on Scott’s Pizza Tour. He even opened up early for us. I love the location! The pizza was off the chart! I love the Roman style. You can tell how much is put into crafting such a wonderful flavor profile. And Ming was just a delight pouring his love into making the perfect pies.

My husband and I will forever be patrons of Hoek. They are hands down the best in the business for having absolutely delicious food, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and running incredible events. My husband and I had no idea how lucky we would become to be working with Hoek for our wedding reception. We knew the food and drinks were going to be delicious, but Hoek really went above and beyond to make our day extremely special. They ordered outdoor heaters, made luxurious cozy outdoor seating places for our guests, made amazing specialty cocktails , made special mulled wine and passed around cookies, as well as made our guests a variety of late night snacks which were a hit!! Anna and Kenny are a dream team and the entire staff at Hoek is superb. Planning a wedding is stressful, and Anna always made us feel calm and excited , versus anxious. There were many questions thrown her way from us and every time she would answer realistically, thoughtfully, and in a solutions-oriented manner. We simply can’t even rate Hoek high enough on any scale because they blew our expectations out of the water. Definitely visit Hoek anytime you are in Red Hook. Team Hoek forever :)

Fantastic spot. We live in a nearby neighborhood and have been many times. Located on a quiet corner near the pier with a lovely sunset view of the statute of liberty, it feels like a peaceful escape from the city. The food is generally very good. The ricotta beet salad is a must have - so fresh. Our only caveat is that the pizza can be a bit soggy, so we'd suggest foregoing toppings and just getting the plain tomato mozzarella (which is very good).

Met some cool locals here. Pizza was really good. Ate too much especially since I already ate earlier. They said pizzas were personal but if you don’t exact much you can share a pizza between 2. But I could easily eat 2
